Great day out. It's just amazing how much fun the kids had getting on old steam trains and riding down the track. There's even a refreshment carriage. Highly recommended!

Visited for the Epping and Ongar Railway Victorian weekend. Great day out. Train pulled by American steam engine. Another steam train going in opposite direction as well as diesel locos. Fascinating to watch change over at Ongar. Staff friendly. Good shop ,cafe and museum as well as travelling theatre of oddities. Ride on the old RT bus was a bit shaky. Not what I remember. May be bad Essex roads. Otherwise great day out.
Unique experience especially with kids. My friend's son had his birthday party in the train and his friends had lot of fun especially since the theme was Halloween. I would recommend a visit if your child enjoys outdoor experiences such as this. The journey itself is short and isn't spectacular by any means. Nevertheless, it was a fun trip and worth a visit.
