The vehicle we purchasedhad been subject to a front end bump we were not told about and only noticed after we checked M.O.T and service documents. After being concerned the coolant tank was empty after our initial test driveit was filled with water by Richard and we werereassured that it drives excellent and we should have nothing to worry about. At that point knowinglittle aboutengines but taking thatadvice in good faith we bought the van.Many top ups to the coolant tank werequickly emptyso wehad itchecked out by a local mechanicwho showedus theradiator had a historical crackfrom thebump and fluid was falling out.More alarmingly it had been driven hundreds ofmiles with no coolant fluid before we even took ownership. We decided to haveradiatorreplaced but this did not completely fixthecoolant issues whendriven at higher speeds and it hadsigns of possible head gasket problems as a consequenceofbeing driven with no coolant fluid.At this pointto avoidfurther riskswe initiated our legal right to reject the vehicleand informed Quality Cars in writing we wanteda full refund as it was sold faulty.For the total of 24 days owningitwe couldonly use itfor 5 days due to coolant issues and we are now back at square one with no vehicle,a monthwasted,over 400 out of pocket after paying part of radiatorreplacement, cancellation of insurance,road tax etc on top of all thedisappointment and stress.All things considered we are left to conclude Richard and his sonare eitherunbelievablyignorant and know nothing about the basicconditionof thevehicles they sellor are a pair of chancerswho tried to palm off a faulty engine while coming acrossas veryfriendly and overalldismissive of the initial concerns. Either way it'sunnerving and we thought it best we share our experience to informothers and also as alastingreminder to Richard to be more thorough with his vehicles and correct issuesbefore advertising and stop riskingother peoples time and money with reasonably foreseeable issues. The bottom line is, this negative feedbackcould'vebeen easilyavoidedif Richard hadcarried out standardchecks and obvious repairs to this vehiclebefore selling to us.
What a super family friendly business! Richard had initial chats with us about a part exchange as we were interested in one of his cars. He explained the process to us with such clarity and brought the car to us for a test drive, looked at our car and a week later made the exchange! I would recommend him every time :-)
